Welcome to Emaho Foundation
The Sanskrit word emaho (pronounced ay-mah-ho) is an expression of joy and wonder, and an invocation for auspiciousness.
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Emaho Foundation is a Tibetan Buddhist center serving the greater Phoenix area. Founded in 2001 by ZaChoeje Rinpoche, Emaho is dedicated to sharing Tibetan culture in the West, supporting humanitarian projects worldwide, and assisting with personal spiritual development.
this week at emaho
Tuesday April 15, Center open all day,
vows 6:00-6:45 am
The eight Mahaya vows, or precepts, are taken for twenty-four hours, beginning at 6 am, usually on full and new moon days. Taking the vows helps us strongly maintain the bodhisattva practice in our lives, reinforcing our determination to become enlightened for the sake of all beings.
Vows are taken at 6 am by those who want to participate in the full day of precepts. However, everyone is welcome to come to the Center anytime during the day and spend time relaxing and meditating with Emaho friends.
Tuesday April 15, 7:00-8:00 pm
Chenrezig is the bodhisattva of great compassion. Chanting his mantra, Om mani padme hum, removes our selfish attitudes and invokes the spirit of universal compassion for all sentient beings.
Wednesday April 16, 7:00-8:00 pm
Join us in a meditation on mindfulness, in which we learn to watch our thoughts without judgment or comment. Thus we lay the foundation to go deeper into self discovery without confusion, fear or doubt, developing the awareness that builds a spiritual ground from which to live our lives.
Everybody is welcome to join this meditation. The Wednesday guided meditations are popular among spiritual practitioners of all traditions.
FUNDAMENTALS OF BUDDHISM
Practicing morality - discovering how trouble starts
Wednesday April 16, 8:00-9:00 pm
Emaho's student-led discussions have been powerful tools of learning for Rinpoche's students. By exploring a topic taken from the teachings of Buddhism, students gain a valuable opportunity to dive deeply into a subject and then share their knowledge with others.

GREEN TARA MEDITATION
Sunday April 20, 7:00-8:00 pm
Green Tara is a feminine emanation of enlightened compassion whose activity of fearless wisdom alleviates fear and obstacles. Identifying with Green Tara's extraordinary qualities of transcendent wisdom, omniscient awareness, fearlessness, and love and compassion allows our own aspects of these innate qualities to arise.
PARKING guidelines: IMPORTANT!
We are asking people not to park along the streets, and not to park in front of the Center, but rather park in the back. Thank you!
